The Challenge: Fast-Track Infrastructure Upgrade
Lounge Underwear recently moved distribution to a new warehouse in Redditch, but they were faced with a serious barrier to getting the new centre online – there was no infrastructure in place for wired and wireless internet access.
For any business, let alone one in a digital-first retail industry, the infrastructure had an urgency similar to a rocket launch without fuel. So, the deadline was pretty tight.
The Solution: Design & Install a CAT6 Data Cabling Infrastructure
As fully trained data cabling experts, we knew that the infrastructure for the internet needed to provide rock-solid reliability while meeting wiring regulations.
So, we designed a tailor-made CAT6 data network that featured multiple cabinets and a CAT6 backbone connecting each cabinet. Plus, we needed to keep the infrastructure design within the maximum cable length for copper data cable. Think of it as a high-speed data highway within the facility.
Following our customers’s approval, the installation took place, ticking all the boxes for safety and compliance with the latest wiring regulations. We marked and labelled every cable for ease of management and rigorously tested all data points.
We also installed Unifi access points around the building so team members could immediately use the system fault-free. Having met the budget and deadline, we’re confident we exceeded expectations and, more importantly, sealed a long-term relationship with our customer.
